Kokomo Varsity Wildkats outsted Richmond Red Devils 5-4 on Saturday. Richmond Red Devils were the first to get on the board in the third when Ally Powell drew a walk, scoring one run. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when Lanaya Buckner hit a solo inside the park home run, Lucy Goad tripled, scoring two runs, and Hattie Tweed singled, scoring one run. Emma Lees earned the win for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The pitcher allowed eight hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Powell took the loss for Richmond Red Devils. The righty went six innings, giving up five runs on six hits, striking out five and walking four. Buckner and Lees were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats while hitting back-to-back. The reliever gave up two hits, striking out three and walking none. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats collected 15 hits in the game. Marciniak drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kokomo Varsity Wildkats with four runs batted in. The first baseman went 3-for-4 on the day.
