Varsity vs Western High School Kokomo Varsity Wildkats Come Up Short Against Western By GameChanger Media Kokomo Varsity Wildkats could not keep up with Western 5-2 on Monday at Kokomo High School. Western got on the board in the second inning after B Erb drew a walk, scoring one run. Spencer Martin singled to center field on the eighth pitch of the at-bat, which helped Kokomo Varsity Wildkats tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fourth, Western broke up the tie when Erb hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Then a single by L George followed to extend the lead to 3-1. George earned the win for Western. The starter surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Emma Lees took the loss for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The hurler went seven innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking seven. Martin led Kokomo Varsity Wildkats with one run batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-3 on the day. Amirah Marciniak went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Kokomo Varsity Wildkats in hits. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hattie Tweed had the most chances in the field with four.
