Varsity vs Roncalli High School Varsity vs Covenant Christian High School Varsity vs Bellmont High School LadyKats Softball Finishes Second in Kokomo Tournament Second-Inning Spurt Lead Kokomo Varsity Wildkats Past Covenant Christian Varsity Warriors By GameChanger Media Kokomo Varsity Wildkats defeated Covenant Christian Varsity Warriors 11-5 on Friday at Kokomo High School thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning. Braylin Boruff induced Spencer Martin to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Lanaya Buckner doubled, scoring two runs, Emma Lees hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs, and Kinley Martin hit a solo home run to left field. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats opened the scoring in the first after a wild pitch scored one run. Lees earned the win for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The pitcher gave up five hits and five runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking three. Boruff took the loss for Covenant Christian Varsity Warriors. The righty went one and one-third innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking three. Lees drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kokomo Varsity Wildkats with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Buckner, Martin, and Lucy Goad each collected two hits for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats Claim Victory Over Bellmont By GameChanger Media Kokomo Varsity Wildkats were triumphant over Bellmont 4-3 on Saturday at Kokomo High School. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats opened the scoring in the second after Ava Federspill hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Emma Lees earned the win for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking seven. Coon took the loss for Bellmont. The starter went six innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out three and walking two. Federspill, the number seven hitter for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats, led the way with two runs batted in. Kinley Martin and Lucy Goad were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats With Tough Game Against Roncalli Varsity Royals By GameChanger Media Kokomo Varsity Wildkats had trouble keeping up with Roncalli Varsity Royals in an 11-2 loss on Saturday at Kokomo High School. Roncalli Varsity Royals got on the board in the top of the first inning after Morgan Curtis singled to center field, Sarah Hofmann singled to left field, Lauren Candler walked, and Jackie Diersing walked, each scoring one run. Roncalli Varsity Royals added one run in the third after Maggie Thorne grounded out. Kayla Brewer earned the win for Roncalli Varsity Royals. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Lucy Goad took the loss for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The starter went seven innings, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits, striking out two and walking 10. Kinley Martin and Goad were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. Goad provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Kokomo Varsity Wildkats with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day. The LadyKats had a great showing at their home tournament and ended with a second place finish.
