Wildkats ended on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Mississinewa on Tuesday. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Kyler Thompson singled, scoring one run. Isaac Flamino struck out 10 batters on the day. He also surrendered two hits and two runs over five innings while walking five. Mississinewa were the first to get on the board in the first when Farmer drew a walk, scoring one run. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats scored on a passed ball, which helped Kokomo Varsity Wildkats tie the game at one in the top of the second. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats took the lead in the top of the fourth. Landon Gibson singled, scoring two runs, to give Kokomo Varsity Wildkats the leg up, 3-1. Mississinewa tied the game up in the bottom of the sixth thanks to two singles. Mississinewa tied the game at four on a single by Kallen Quaderer. Gibson, the number eight hitter for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats, led the way with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Ethan Merrell stole two bases. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats stole four bases in the game. Next up for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats is a game at Harrison on Wednesday.
