The Kokomo Wildkats turned in a strong performance at the IHSAA Sectional, finishing 3rd as a team behind Oak Hill and Eastern. Leading the way was Sophomore Waylon Mossholder (120), who captured a Sectional Championship with an impressive first-place finish. Juniors Devon Rush (175) and Stacy Rund (Hwt) each battled their way to 2nd place, showing grit and consistency throughout the day. Strong podium efforts also came from Senior Dorian Barbour (106), Josh Sawyer-May (113), and Sophomore Joelle Nieto (150), all finishing 3rd, while Juniors Shaun Rodgers (157) and Sebastien Klueh (215) added 4th-place finishes to round out a solid team showing. The sectional also marked a significant and emotional moment for Senior Christien Damewood, who celebrated his 100th career victory during the tournament. Unfortunately, he was forced to medically default after his third match due to a knee injury. Even so, Damewood finished his career with determination and heart, embodying what it means to be a Wildkat. His leadership, perseverance, and fighting spirit leave a legacy within the program. These 8 Wildkats will compete this Saturday at the Peru Regional. Wrestling starts at 9AM, hope to see you there! As Always Go Kats Go! Coach Bough
