Cooper Cage Races at State

On Saturday Cooper Cage wrapped an outstanding cross-country career for the Wildkats as he competed in the IHSAA State Meet at Terre Haute. This is where every runner in the state wants to end up and for Cooper it was a well deserved opportunity to qualify and represent the Wildkats for the first time in twelve years. Despite dealing with a major foot injury Cooper fought through the pain and adversity and gave it his best shot. His time of 16:50 and placement of 175 does not give an accurate description of his abilities, but for him to fight through injury just to finish showed grit and mental toughness. We are proud of Cooper for his efforts and dedication throughout his high school career to the sport and his team. He will be missed, but we know he will do well at the next level, as he will be running for Indiana Wesleyan University next fall. Cooper leaves Kokomo Cross Country with the following accomplishments: - State Qualifier 2025 - 3x Regional Qualifier - 3x All- Sectional Team - 2x All-NCC - NCC Individual Champion 2025 - Helped lead Kokomo to their first conference crown in 20 years - He is ranked #2 all time in KHS history with a 5K time of 15:48
