Kokomo vs Northwestern Win (5-0) Caleb Taflinger- W 6-2, 6-0 Micah Taflinger- W 6-1, 6-1 Mitch McClelland- W 6-2, 6-1 Blake/Mayfield- W 6-1, 6-0 Moos/McClain- W 6-3, 6-0 Kats had another fun night of tennis. We had a lot of firsts since I have been coach. This is the first time we have beat a ranked opponent. This is the first time we have won a match while losing #1 & #2 singles points. It also the first time we have won a match with every point coming from a three set win. We started off well and then our entire team lost their 2nd set. We fought, battled and played great in the third sets. We started off a little slow after the holiday weekend, but really played well to finish the match. I thought our #1 doubles played great all night and did a great job closing at the net. #2 doubles from NW did well mixing up speeds and we adjusted well. Our singles guys played solid all night. Northwestern will keep getting better and stronger, they always do. We are headed to North Central tomorrow and we have had some really good battles with them the past two years. We are about half way down with the year, and I'm so thankful to be coaching this team. Every player has a great attitude, works hard in school and is trying to grow into a servant leader. I'm really blessed to be working with this group of boys and their families.
