The Kokomo girls cross-country team earned an 11th-place finish out of 20 teams at the Taylor University Invitational on Saturday, continuing to show steady progress. Junior Alaina Thompson led the Wildkats with a new personal best of 21:23, pacing the team against a competitive field. She was followed by seniors Morgan Rakestraw (24:23) and Christina Durham (25:02), while junior Makyila Rubush was impressive in her debut, clocking 25:53 in her first race. Senior Teagan Dalton had the breakthrough of the day, dropping a minute and a half from last week’s time to set a new PR at 27:47. The Kats competed well in a tough field and displayed noticeable improvements from last weekend’s meet. With a developing pack and strong work ethic, Kokomo’s girls are forming a promising group and look forward to continued growth as the season moves ahead. Coach Ousley
