Varsity vs North Miami The Kokomo Lady Kats dropped a hard-fought match at home against North Miami on Thursday night, falling 3–1 (25-23, 20-25, 16-25, 24-26). While the outcome wasn’t what the Kats hoped for, the effort and resilience on display set a strong foundation for the season ahead. Junior middle Bella Richards had a standout night with 22 kills, a .567 hitting percentage, and 6 total blocks. Myla Lacy added 11 kills, giving the offense multiple weapons at the net. Setter Torre Willis distributed the ball with 26 assists. Defensively, Kokomo’s back row battled hard. Senior libero Tia Williams led with 19 digs, while Ava Federspill tallied 17 digs. Layla Ferraro and Carolina Silvi each contributed 11 digs to keep the ball alive and extend rallies. This was a tough loss, but it doesn’t define us. We’ll use this as an opportunity to reflect, improve, and grow stronger as a team. The Lady Kats (1–1) are back in action Saturday at the Kokomo Invitational, opening play at 9 a.m. against Maconaquah and facing Muncie Central at 11 a.m. in Haworth Gym.
