The Kats started Senior Night with a flourish - Senior Jadon Colescott’s service from the right flank was redirected into the net be Senior forward Nathan Lay for a 1-0 lead. They looked to be the better side to open the game, pressing Lafayette Jeff into errors and crashing the goal, but the Bronchos equalized on corner kick minutes later. Kokomo responded again when Senior winger German Barahona Martin’s hard, curling shot deflected off the far post and Junior forward Kingston Johnson put the ball into the net for the 2-1 lead. Trading blows, the Bronchos scored a hard, low shot from just outside the 18 to even things up 2-2 and concluded the half with the final goal when they switched play quickly and unbalanced the Kat defense. In a tight game, down 3-2, the Kats were in it. In the second half, the Kats dominated the first twenty minutes, rarely allowing Lafayette Jeff out of their defending half. After Senior winger Braedyn Booker’s rebound shot sailed over the crossbar, and the Bronchos moved the ball into their attacking half and earned a corner kick. As the ball came through the area, a Kat defender handled the ball, and the Bronchos put away their fourth goal of the night, winning the match 4-2. Your man of the match is Senior forward Nathan Lay. In the Junior Varsity match, the Kats started slow, conceding a goal early to go down 1-0. After conceding the 1-0 lead, the Kats battled back, created chances, and equalized on Junior forward Samuel Lucania Fortunato’s tremendous goal from 25 yards out. The Wildkats held on to go in 1-1 at the half but conceded early again in the second and fell 3-1 to visitors. They are now 5-1-0 on the season.
