The Kokomo Wildcats. visited the Hamilton Heights Huskies and dropped a close one to the hosts by a score of 2-1. Playing their most intense, inspired, and focused soccer of the season, the Kats took a 1-0 lead in the first half when junior striker Felipe Mendez Zaitter's curling shot to the far post from 25 yards out was saved by the Husky goalkeeper, and senior winger and captain Braden Booker pounced on the rebound to finish the goal. The Kats would hold the 1-0 lead through the end of the first half. 
Moving the ball well and pressing their opponent, the Kats were played really good soccer for the first 40 minutes. In the second half, the Kats still played well with great intensity, but two untimely errors resulted in two Hamilton Heights goals. A foul on a Hamilton Heights attacker in the penalty area resulted in a penalty kick, which they scored. With just over 20 minutes left in the match, a foul outside the area resulted in a free kick which was redirected into the near post, just beyond the outstretched arms of senior keeper and captain Ethan Landrum. Landrum played solidly in the goal tonight, once again helping to hold the opponent to two goals or less. 
 With the score 2 to 1, and about 15 minutes left to play, the Kats pushed numbers forward, modified their tactical alignment, and threatened on a couple of occasions, but were unable to get the equalizer. They did earn in a penalty kick with just under 10 minutes left in the game, but could not convert it. It was a gritty performance the Wildkats will have to learn from quickly.
