The Lady Kats opened the season with South Bend Adams on Tuesday night in a physical, fast and intense showing! Kokomo came out on top 48-45 in a low-scoring defensive affair. First game jitters were prominent throughout the game, but we battled and came out on top with intensity and poise the second half. Eliana Stewart led the way with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Jhordyn Brown added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Satyra Scott contributed 7 points and Akiera Huntsman added 14 rebounds. Senior, Amara Stroman, stuffed the stat sheet with 4 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Freshman, Taniyah Jones, gave quality minutes with defensive intensity and focus. To be successful, the Lady Kats need to consistently make lay-ups, take care of the ball and not foul as much but tonight was a great night to learn from with a win. Shoutout to our JV team who came out with a win and solid performances from Camryn Tucker, Madi Guire, and Ziyae Tyler! Good work ladies! Next up, the Lady Kats play at Zionsville. GO KATS. -coach Haley Peckinpaugh
